REDROW HOMES

PONTOON REACH DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

DOCKLANDS EAST LONDON

  • Start: Sept 2018
  • Duration: 3 Years

The Project

Pontoon Reach is an exciting new development from Redrow and Peabody, located in the up and coming Royal Docks area of the London Borough of Newham in East London. The scheme will deliver 295 homes, comprising a mix of studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The £15 million joint venture is therefore part of a long-term commitment to deliver much needed new homes for Londoners in key regeneration areas across the capital.

The Challenge

Redrow Homes were looking for a new security solutions provider who would deliver on their promise to secure their site during the course of the two-year project. The project management team needed a robust one-stop-shop security solution to protect their premises from theft, vandalism, fires, gas leaks and floods out of hours. They also needed a system to control, track, monitor and restrict access to and from the site in hours.

The Solution

After a thorough vetting process, we were selected as the provider of choice to design and deploy a tailored security solution to meet the security and safety needs of the project. A total of 16 remotely monitored ultra-low-low-light outdoor network-enabled cameras and long range motion sensitive passive infrared sensors were deployed along with a two-point manned access control system to secure the site perimeter in and out of working hours.

The Benefits

Our monthly subscription-based pricing model will save Redrow up to 80% in overall security costs. The video surveillance and access control systems are also fully supported by a professional 24/7 control room which can quickly react to any security or safety threats in the day or night. We also installed a local camera monitoring system to be used by the gateman to monitor the entry and exit of staff, visitors and deliveries during the day.

HILL PARTNERSHIPS

ST JOHNS ROAD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

HARROW NORTH LONDON

  • Start: July 2018
  • Duration: 2 Years

The Project

The St. Johns Road project is a joint venture between Origin Housing and Hill Partnerships to build 123 one and two bedroom apartments for private sale, alongside 54 shared ownership and 27 affordable rent tenures. The development, which was granted planning permission by Harrow Council in 2016 is part of the council’s ‘Heart of Harrow’ regeneration scheme, which seeks to transform the town centre and deliver 5,000 new homes.

The Challenge

After they experienced a few break-ins at the start of their project, the management team urgently needed a reliable and affordable security solution to protect their site out of normal working hours. They wanted a system that would be able to instantly detect, indentify, track and warn off any potential intruders before they caused any damage, deploying local enforcement units and the police in the event of a persistent intrusion.

The Solution

The project management team were pleased with our offer to deploy a fully managed and remotely monitored CCTV solution to proactively protect the site from unauthorised intrusions out of normal working hours. Long range passive infra-red sensors were installed to instantly detect and notify our 24/7 control room of any perimeter breaches. Audio warning speakers were also installed to warn intruders off site before engaging the local police.

The Benefits

We were able to deploy and activate the system within 5 working days over a mobile broadband network before a fixed internet telephone line was installed. We also deployed a guard at no extra cost to protect the site as we installed the system. We also provided free key holding and alarm response services as part of our fixed-rate subscription-based package to save the project management team vital intervention time and money.

LOVELL PARTNERSHIPS

CAPE OF GOOD HOPE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

CAMDEN NORTH LONDON

  • Start: March 2016
  • Duration: 3 Years

The Project

This project was an initiative by Camden Council to build replacement homes for the council tenants and resident leaseholders set to lose their homes to the high speed two railway project. A total of 116 new homes across eight sites in the london borough of camden to include ninety replacement homes, eleven council homes, five shared ownership homes, ten private homes, a new community hall, shops and shared gardens are set to be built.

The Challenge

Lovell Partnerships, who were contracted by the council to undertake this massive project, needed to protect all the eight sites from known threats like burglaries, vandalism, arson, floods and power-cuts out of normal working hours. They needed a system that would quickly react to and prevent potential incidents from causing any major damage. A robust security and safety plan was therefore critical to the progress of the overall project.

The Solution

We deployed alarm-enabled cameras on six sites and effectively monitored them from our control room when the sites were not occupied. These were also supported by an instant mobile response and key holding team on standby to react to any flagged incidents. Fully licensed security guards and mobile patrol units were also deployed during bank holidays, the christmas period and project shutdown periods for added peace of mind.

The Benefits

In addition to provding a strong security presence to act as a deterent to crime, we were able to avert potential intrusions from children. Our remotely monitored surveillance and mobile patrol services were also a more cost-effective alternative to having full-time static guards for the entire project duration. We also provided the site manager with a local monitoring option to monitor site and staff safety during normal working hours.

The Project

This redevelopment of the Redbrick Estate in Old Street provides 55 homes, new community facilities and retail space, and significant improvements to the communal outdoor spaces and parking areas as part of Islington’s council home building programme. The project will involve the demolition of the existing garages and retail space, which will then be re-provided alongside a new larger community centre and three new residential buildings

The Challenge

As the main contractors of the project, Geoffrey Osborne Limited wanted to keep individual sites and working areas secure at all times with particular attention being given to restricting children from gaining access to areas under construction out of normal working hours. They also needed to monitor the safety of estate to make sure that they were not affected by any constrcution activities during normal working hours.

The Solution

We managed to deploy an alarm-enabled camera system which was remotely monitored from our control room to secure the site out of normal working hours. We had an alarm response and key holding unit on standby to quickly react to any potential incidents. A fully licensed guard was deployed during the festive period for added peace of mind. A time-lapse camera system was also deployed to capture the progress of the project.

WATES CONSTRUCTION

OLIVE SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

HACKNEY EAST LONDON

  • Start: Sept 2018
  • Duration: 2 Years

The Project

The tauheedal education trust are set to build a new free school on a site situated on the lower hackney road in the london borough of hackney. The project which was awarded to wates construction will convert a former police station into a primary school set to accommodate at least 630 students. The site works will refurbish a listed building at the front and demolish buildings in the rear to make room for a new three storey facility.

The Challenge

The project management team at wates construction not only wanted a site security solution to pro-actively protect their site out of normal working hours but also one that would be able to monitor deliveries in and out of the site during the day. They also wanted a way of making sure that none of their delivery vehicles took up vital parking space along the narrow road leading to the site which is located in a residential neighbourhood.

The Solution

After successfully working with wates construction on a development prior to this one, the project management team saw it fit to work with us again and they requested us to provide a remotely monitored CCTV solution to protect their site from unauthorised intrusions out of normal working hours. A total of 11 cameras, 11 sensors, 1 video recorder and 3 audio speakers were deployed to instantly detect, identify and warn any intruders off site.

The Benefits

We deployed a comprehensive remotely monitored solution which included key holding and alarm response services at no extra cost to the project management team. The CCTV system was also able to work alongside an existing biometric access control system to monitor deliveries in and out of the site. An extra camera was placed along the road to the site entrance to ensure that residential parking was not used by delivery vehicles.
